I can't get this to run in the browser either her on itch or the downlaod posted above at all. The download posted above and it just crashes the tab with no error log.
One of the best and most robust text games I've ever played. I've seen many different versions of the game, even from before itch.io. I'm amazed that Adeptus still adds and refines new content. Worth playing!
Thanks for sending me this game, it's really in-dept and has a good backstory. Also, I love the character development, context and various options. 10/10
I can't even play the game on the computer now. The moment I find a choice in the game with my arrow keys, the game just picks something for me. I don't know if it is because of something in the settings of my computer, the way the game works, or both, but it's not working for me.
Hi. I am sorry that game is not working for You. It was not made with the thought of using arrow keys. When You are using mouse/touchpad is it working OK?
Good news, I tried it on my computer and it works perfectly. I just wish it wasn't so short. I wish I could drag it out as long as I wanted to. It's just that fun.
I am happy that it worked for You at least! Yes, gameplay is not long, but game is projected with replayability in mind. You can play it once more, make other choices and see how they would change outcome of things.
I'm just saying, I am the dark Lord. I should be the one to decide when a kingdom dies. I certainly don't mind contending with enemy sieges. And what if I simply want to attack kingdoms with people of other races to stoke hatred between them as much as I want? In fact, why can't I destroy a kingdom that way and make the survivors think that another kingdom did it? What I'm trying to say is, for being a dark Lord, it feels like I am being led around quite a bit and my options are very limited.
Of course, Dalen, You are right that more decisions would be good. But You know - at some moment i had to finish the game ;) I am still novice creator - and I am making games hobbistically, after my work hours, so they are not as polished, as I - and players - would want. But I hope that game give You at least a bit of fun. And I hope that this game is just step in my development.
for sure. These are games that I would normally pay for, and the fact that a website like this allows for frequent updates and easy gameplay shows the limitless potential games, especially like this one, have.
My name is Dalen Lewin and I am completely blind. I found this game through the audio games forum. It says that your game doesn't work on mobile phones of any kind. I tried it out to be sure, and with my phone running on iOS 16, I read the manual and created my character, but that's all it will let me do before it stops letting me do anything. It is perfectly readable, But it just doesn't do anything. If you are interested, I have left the link to the post.
Hi Dalen. I am very sad that this game work doesn't work for You and I am sorry that You wasted Your time. I don't know what is reason of it. I have no experience with text-based games played in audio mode. Can You write something more? What are last words Your phone is reading? Also - I think that this game is not necessarily good for audio mode, because there are many numerical statistics nearly each scene - maybe that is an obstacle? Maybe You will try my other game without such mechanics: https://adeptus7.itch.io/return-of-the-emperor ?
The problem with the online version is that the background on Android is black and the text is also black, if they select it the text is seen, it would be solved if you change the text to another color, not white because then in a normal colored background White would not be seen either
How do I skip to the game? I keep having to click continue after which I put a point in strength, keep telling it I don't need help. But then i just keeps jumping back to continue>strength->don't need help. Tutorials are bad enough as it is, leave alone with this much text which I'm not gonna read. Just have a skip button and launch the game? EDIT: corrected typo
Hello, Can You send me screens with scenes making problems (screen when when Tou click continue, and when You click stregnth) on e-mail: brat.dominik@op.pl ?
Just finished a playthrough and had a lot of fun with the game! I have a fondness for text-based games, and I enjoyed this one's combination of strategy, villainy, and choose-your-own-adventure decision-making. I noticed that the decision options sometimes had spelling errors, so fixing those is the only suggestion I can give. Otherwise, it's a very solid and well-written game. Nice work!

I seem to be able to use the arrow keys again, and no, I don't use the mouse because I am completely blind.
Dude this game runs super smooth on the android galaxy s21
It is nice to hear it. But I know that some mobile users have troubles. I am not sure what is the reason, probably something in their settings.
Very fun!
Thanks, glad that You liked it.

Can You check what theme have You turned on and if changing him helps?

Built strength. Littered the enemy with spies. Sowed distrust between nations. Butchered them all. The Dark Lord reigns Supreme. 10/10
